The Prize

This year the girls took dance on Saturday mornings in a town just 20 minutes away. Actually, Daphne tumbled, and Maisie began ballet. Once we got there, and I sat down, I enjoyed sitting amongst the other dancers' parents, watching the older dancers come in and out, and playing blocks with Ruby.

But getting them up and going and out the door by 9am EVERY Saturday this year was sometimes a bit of mommy work. It was work for them too. Lots of times we ALL just wanted to stay in our pjs and have a morning off (with church on Sundays, we didn't have any mornings off this year).

Again, though, once we were there, it was very worth it. Daphne loved it the whole year, and Maisie had to get used to leotards, tights and ballet shoes (which was tricky) - but even she began to transform into a dancer.

Yesterday, we all got our prize by participating in their culminating work - their recital!! They got to perform in front of a gianormous crowd and I got to get them all dolled up, and then sit back and enjoy as their biggest fans. It was a top five sort of day!
