Only if you watch American IDOL

I am a big fan of IDOL. Always have. Always will (a strong bet anyway).

But last night confirmed that I think the way they execute the whole "save vote" is very awkward. I've been able to come up with a few ways that I think they could do it better, since I do like the idea of them being able to save someone that really deserves to stay.

I was so embarassed for the judges last night as they fumbled around their decision on LIVE television in front of the poor contestant. I agreed that Scott's time was definitely up on the show, but come on, give the guy a break.

They're making it look way too unprofessional!

IF you don't watch this show, I hope you stopped reading at the title, but if you DO...am I way off here or do you agree?

Totally agree. They need to prep the judges beforehand or something. And what was the deal, if 2 wanted him to stay and 2 wanted him to go...he's gotta go. Doesn't it have to be unanimous to stay??

So, who are YOU voting for? :)

Still on my TiVO. But I was sooooo happy to read that Scott was voted off. I don't want to seem insensitive because certainly he is an amazing person with great courage but him being in this competition.....this year.....with as much talent as the other contestants have. It was all a bit patronizing to me. If I were on the judges panel I don't think I would have even sent him to Hollywood. (I know I am hard A**) I am just saying I've seen way better singing in our church on a Sunday morning.

I felt horrible for Scott, especially since he couldn't see what was going on and had to just stand there listening! I've loved him from the beginning, but it was his time to go. I hope he gets something out of this, because he really is inspiring -- from Crystal, a fellow legally-blind IDOL lover. :-)

I have not watched Idol for a few season now, but the radio station I listen to in the morning talks about it all the time. They replayed some of last nights fumble. I agree it sounded pretty bad.

I don't like the new judges' save thing at all. I understand why they thought about it, but so far it has just been really awkward and harsh. It makes the contestant standing there feel as if the judges were making the decision, when it is supposed to be the voters deciding. It was Scott's time to go, even though he is very talented and inspiring. He'll get something good from this in addition to the fact that he gets to tour with Idol. That will be awesome to say the least!

I haven't watched it yet! BUT I wanted to say that we are going to be at Disneyland at the same time! I tried to email you, but your email came back to me. Anyway, we are going with most of our playgroup. I made character breakfast reservations for 28 people! Should be wild! Are just you and Daphne going, or are you meeting up with other Moms and Big Girls down there?

Oh, and you can email me- my email is my first and last name @ hotmail. :)

I like Danny too, and also Matt. But I kinda have a feeling it'll come down to Allison and Adam...we'll see!!

I think they handled it poorly. I thought it's supposed to be unanimous to keep a contestant. So if it was 2-2, Simon should have just said right away that they weren't using it. Or they should agree before the show who they would use it on. Obviously they don't have time to debate based on the re-do of the contestant's song!

Seriously awkward & awful! I was so ready for Simon to take us all out of our misery!!!

It was awkward for Scott and America. They should just do a silent.. yes or no...
Scott really bothered me though, because he always argued and didn't just say thank you.
